The Cathedral Chapter is the same as a vestry in a parish church. It is a board of directors that holds fiduciary responsibility, regulates all temporal concerns, ensures that there is orderliness to our worship, and helps the Dean and Bishop “in whatever is appropriate to lay persons for the furtherance of the welfare of the church.”

For me, the Chapter represents a diverse group of talented business, financial, and spiritually minded resources with which anyone should be honored to be associated. I envision the Cathedral as the spiritual spearhead for our congregation, our diocese and most importantly our community. While we usher in a new year, and a new Diocesan Bishop, the Cathedral must face head on a changed “life after Covid” world which may never return to the past version of a packed Cathedral House of worship. The Cathedral Chapter must remain ready and willing to address change on multiple fronts, including Finances, Technology, Outreach and Education. I pray I can help to provide leadership to face those changes through Experience, Faith, and Joy.

The traditions are very grounding, and the changes are very challenging sometimes. We hate losing old members and love welcoming new ones. The Cathedral is entering a period of transition and I believe I can be helpful in navigating the path forward. We need to be very clear about our vision of our path forward, namely proclaiming the Good News of Jesus.
