Choir Groups
Below is a list of the various categories of choir groups that represent the heart of the Cathedral music department!
Cathedral Choir
This is the Cathedral’s principal choir of women, men, and teens. They lead the 10:15 a.m. Eucharist each Sunday, sing for concerts, seasonal services, diocesan events, and special occasions. They practice on Wednesdays from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Michael Petrosh is the director. Admission is by audition.
Cathedral Choristers
This is the youth choir for girls in grades 3-12 and boys in grades 3-9 (unchanged voices.) They sing each Sunday for the 10:15 a.m. Eucharist and special services. They practice on Sundays from 12:00-1:15 p.m. This group is directed by Melissa Ramb.
Children’s Training Choir
This choir, comprised of children in first grade through second grade, meets 2 to 3 Sundays each month from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Choir rehearsal is held in the Children’s Chapel. They sing occasionally with the Cathedral Choristers. This group too is directed by Melissa Ramb.
Orlando Boy and girls choir
This internationally renowned choir is currently on hiatus. Michael Petrosh is the director. Admission is by audition. There is a modest tuition. For more information, click contact music@ccslorlando.org
Orlando Men’s Choir
This choir is for men and teenage boys with significant choral experience. They sing with the Boys Choir and Girls Choir for special services and some concerts. They have occasional rehearsals and sometimes travel. Michael Petrosh is the director. Admission is by audition. There is a modest tuition. For more information, click contact music@ccslorlando.org
Cathedral Chamber Singers
This adult ensemble of professional singers includes some members of the Cathedral Choir and others from the community. They sing for Tenebrae on Good Friday evening, and occasionally for Evensong or concerts. Michael Petrosh is the director. Admission is by audition. There is a modest tuition. Family Choir
During the month of August, as the Cathedral Choir takes a break from their regular duties, all singers are invited to participate in a volunteer Family Choir, singing anthems and service music for the 10:15 Eucharist each Sunday morning. Choir rehearsal begins at 9:30 a.m. in the organ/choir rear gallery. Participation is uncomplicated, with no processions or vestments. All ages are welcome.
